No matter however you see it a train is more convenient than a flight which leaves you at the airport which can be in the middle of nowhere as opposed to a train station
Not to even mention the boarding bullshit the luggage bullshit and all other bullshit the <redacted> came up with for flights
I am sure not all of Japan has splendid infrastructure but it should be solid enough in most places (that tourists would like to explore)
They have god damn 8 year old kids taking trains from a village in buttfuck nowhere to go to school without the parents by their side, I’m sure they can handle whatever tourists would like to visit
> none of those Nips know any english
Certainly less likely than in Japan but considerably likely still
100 bucks for a train ride sure but that’s the highest speed rails and the offset in restaurant and(normal human) housing costs offset what it would cost in Europe
Try visiting eastern or southern Europe and see how frustrating that can be there too
Good luck with people speaking pseudo Russian and not understanding any English
> with vastly different destinations
And until I have seen those, I don't feel the need to go to another continent for the sightseeing alone
The only exception is Korea because of kpops obviously, but even that I am not as pressed about becasue I can see those here too
Most people who do long distance travel like that have probably already seen a good amount in their near vicinity already to be fair, you won’t see first time vacationers go straight for the 18h flights
Korea is mostly a dystopian shithole and unnecessarily expensive, even if the costs would be lower than japans it would still not make sense to visit on a whim
I think I’d only go there for a bit if I were already vacationing somewhere close and it would be convenient to take a short trip there
