Helps if you dedicated some time in your schedule to hobbies. Spontaneously, you are more likely to pick up Youtube videos and such that do not require much attention.

Was in a mood for a classic movie with supernatural flavor so I watched Suspiria (1977). A famous Dario Argento giallo-ish movie about a dance school. Simple plot and characters, but likeable enough. What it excels at is the atmosphere. Very uniquely colorful, yet opressive vibe.

I Erase You is just a translated title. However, it is starting to become a thing. For example, last year's drama Don't Come Home has been dubbed as well as recent zombie flick Ziam.

Well, it is not my prefered way of viewing but it makes sense from business perspective. These titles as well as Korean dramas that are dubbed tend to reach top of Netflix charts. And if they make people to at least give Asian film and television chance, it is a good thing.

Today I have been thinking about visuals of graphs and statistics in presentations. I saw a video about visual elements that are used to make a game UI and world look futuristic to our senses and it's fascinating how common the patterns are used and how easy it is to create future aesthetics. When I saw some purple fancy energy bar, it kinda reminded me of a bar graph on a powerpoint presentation. Finished Bangkok Breaking (2019). This is a miniseries about a guy whose brother dies in suspicious car accident and he joins volunteer paramedics to uncover the conspiracy. Honestly, this is a very mediocre show. It has some interesting plot elements and thrilling scenes but it ends up being average. Would probably benefit if it had more episodes to flesh out and develop main and side characters, also maybe few standalone episodes actually dedicated to the first responders duties, instead of it being in between main plot. The female lead is a fun character, very nosy and she has a nice non-awkward chemistry with the main guy. Very apparent they are drawn to each other.

The reason why I think I will still be thinking about the in the upcoming years is how many themes the show tackles. Potential spoilers ahead.
The themes it explores are plenty: learning to be contend with what you have but also not letting that hinder your potential, enjoying fleeting moments that you know won't last, time passing and things you taken for granted not being there anymore and relationships with people getting more tenuos, letting go of someone you love knowing your relationship may be indirectly hurting them, perceiving someone as bad guy when he might be just telling your the trush that is too painful to accept, difficulty of relationship between people of different status, tying our sense of self-worth to someone else and being heavily dependant on them.
And Doona is not played by an actress but a former idol turned actress. Which gives the show this semi-autobiographic feeling. Who knows how many of these things Suzy had to go through. In extension, how many of these things are our beloved women struggling with on daily basis.

I would forget the very important theme of people wasting away and pretending in social interactions, often highlighting certain aspects of their personalities in order not to have to face themselves and their issues. Which is cleverly implemented into the story as explains motivations of the characters, making it more grounded instead of a magical romcom relationship.

Tried Smite once in like 2012 but couldn't run it.
The problem is that it is just easier to play a round of Slay the Spire or Super Auto Pets than actually learning new mechanics, immersing yourself in the story and the world. It takes time in contrast to immediate fun of those games.

Probably more of a curiosity for how it all began than enjoyable entry on its own.
Watched The Autumn Afternoon (1962). The final Ozu movie about a widower who slowly realizes he can't keep his daughter by his side anymore as she should get married even though it may result in him being left alone. Nice slice of life film, although I expected to be more dramatic. It is mostly easy going with many plotlines involving people just living their lives. Occassionally, the movie gets pretty funny and the portrayl of Japan is incredibly comfy.

What Did Lady Forget is more of a comedy. I believe it is one of the first roles of Setsuko Hara and she is a complete menace. Rebelious girl sent by her parents to her uncle in hopes the respected university professor can talk some sense into her. However, he gets sick of his wife's nagging and decided to join parting with her.
People describe it as his will or testament, can see why.
Finished seasons 3 and 4 of Red Dwarf. Bigger budget enabled cool sequences like battle in storage place but honestly, I found older set design more comfy. The new regulars are great and the show is still very funny. Although, I find it less punchy than the first two seasons. But that is expected, as in those characters spout legendary line after legendary line which is not sustainable. Time to take a break. For, I am starting to miss my noonas.

It is amazing but has a huge learning curve after the first level. The first game also has a lot of tomb raiding, which many people including me are not that fond of. The series thrives way more in city thieving oriented levels, especially in the second one. However, the games cant be played out of order as it is a trilogy.

It can get obtuse, especially for new players. In buildings, even if you have not map, you can somewhat piece it together. It is much harder in these environments as in some cases, your map just says there is a tower up north and you just have to sneek around with your compass hoping you find a way. It still has some great stuff but the gameplay loop is not as satisfying as in city levels.
Yes, the intro sets up a small character arc for the main character. And the events of the games slowly nudge him into new direction, with the ending of the third game delivering the payoff. The stories are also intertwined. The first game sets up the main 3/4 factions and each game explores them from a different angle, creating a cool worldbuilding. Playing in order also allows you to see how the world changes and technology with it. In second game, you revisit a place from the first and it is being completely rebuild making bad guys seem like such a overwhelming threat by taming such a dangerous place. In tandem with the story, second game brings new technology like security cameras, which greatly affects gameplay. The third game rewinds it a bit, likely largely due to console limitations but it makes for a great worldbuilding by showing the people have became so distrustful of the technology after the events of second game.

On its own, as the title Thi4f fittingly suggests, it is a tedious below average early 2010s game that you buy cheap on sale and like drop after couple of hours. Although, I will commend them for sticking to the premise, making the main character fragile and unable to effectively attack or defend himself.
As a Thief game, it is quite a disaster. Snarky smartess MC is turned into weird emo guy. The level design is linear without sense of exploration. The freedom of movement is gone. The story is poorly written. The witty, sometimes downright manic dialogue is replaced by the most basic you-don't-say lines. Instead of impactful villains that are masters of manipulation that trick their ways into positions of power to enable their evil plans, you got this jumpy little Napoleonish weirdo with silly balding haircut who beats women. The worldbuilding is generic medieval stuff. The factions are gone. The originals have entire religions created for them. Hammeriets may follow just Christian values rewritten by some autist that makes everything into building allegories but you can see how people in such chaotic world would stick to religion based on building strong foundations and progress. You don't get none of that.

I have not played the remake. I heard the cryptic notes says something like "You have been here for 2 decades" but that may very well be taunting the player. Because I have been there for almost a decade, never fading from my mind like many other piece of media.
Outside of cheapening the emotional impact, I don't think it makes sense. For example, there is no reason for Laura to be there. And the town does not work like this in any game. It is not a purgatory, just a twisted spiritual power manifesting the unconscious mind of the characters.
It’s more about literally finding bodies lying around that are dressed up like James, I guess they were in the original too but it was simply less noticeable due to the shitty graphics at the time
I don’t think it undermines the story for people like me who enjoy the punishment aspect of the story and the existential dread and horror, it’s still not very significant given that you would really be analyzing only one loop as is being your playthrough

I would say it cheapens the story. How impactful it may be if James is going through the same motions again and again. Instead of being a manic journey of a man who is about to break down.
In Water Ending, James just doesn't care about her as he is too overwhelmed dealing with his guilt. Much more plausable than Laura being trapped for 2 decades in the horror loop for no reason.

Was in a mood for detective story, so I watched Prescription: Murder (1968). This is the first movie featuring Columbo and it is amazing. I was surprised how much it dedicated to building up the murder and then the constant mind games between Columbo and the perpetrator. He is a really fun character, hiding his genius behind this messy appreance and endlessly rambling personality. Sharp writing too. The way he went to the doctor's office and then it was revealed it was "coincidentaly" in time he overheard during the phone call was amazing.

Well, both series are fairly episodic with slow subtle changes in the background. Knowing plot beats allow me to easily just pick up a season and watch it with little commitment. Not that you want much change in these shows anyways. The comfy part comes from being able to watch random episode and it is the team just handling another case.
He is great but he will probably never get another role that will be as significant as Jimmy/Saul in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

Silent Hill 2 is not a rip off. It is inspired by many things to create something new.
The influence is clear here. A man dealing with mortality of his loved one. Family relationships heavily strained by tragedy. Choosing to live in delusions instead of dealing with truth (Jacob running away from his family to live with Jezzie, just like James trying to replace his wife with Maria). Then you have the environmental design, especially the decaying hospital setting.

Dubbing is not the issue. I read something about studios wanting to be paid in Western currencies, which may be plausible. Some episodes of TV shows used to get banned due to political content. I guess that those who made it here were more suitable for the propaganda.
