Well, it worked when Netflix had everything. They refocused on original projects and many of them being successful and the company is still growing. Others are not doing well. Like Disney. Good chunk of its subscribers are Indians paying 1 dollar per month to watch cricket tournaments. And flooding their franchises instead of new original projects devalued their core IPs.
I guess some do but would probably be completely different take on the subject like Sono following Suicide Club by entirely different Noriko's Dinner Table.
Yeah, little free time and pretty demanding, especially when they will be taking care of baby and son that will be little older. As much as it must be stressful, I guess you replace free time with fullfillment. what to watch tonight...
Finished Genie, Make a Wish (2025). This was surprisingly amazing drama about a girl who was abandoned by her family as a child as she was born with psychopatic tendencies and was left to grow up with her grandma. As an adult, she travels to Dubai to confront her family and on her trip stumbles on a magic lamp housing a genie. Malicious genie instantly recognizes her as a reincarnation of the girl whose kindness caused him to be imprisoned for 1000 years. As per bet with God, he needs to corrupt her morals or face eternal damnation. Yet, it will be no easy feat.
The show is primarily a romantic comedy. The comedy is very silly but found myself often genuenly chuckling at the jokes. As a romance, it manages to pull of multiple emotionally touching moments. As a fantasy, it feels pretty stylized but also very cheesy. Not for everyone but I like the strangeness of it all.
The central core of this show is Ka-jong, played by Suzy, the loveliest woman. Her condition leaves her unable to feel most emotions and is often ostracized by others. Yet, despite all this, you can clearly see she cares in her own subtle ways about people and things, sometimes desperatly latching onto rules to stay in the line, and do what she believes is right. Her stern personality and occassional prones to violence are effectively used for comedic effects.
Another strong point is Kim Woo-bin role as Iblis, the malicious Saitan. Starting off the story as quite an edgelord, he tries to understand the current world after his imprisonment which leads to many funny situations (like demonstrating he understands the concept of police by calling them on himself). As he spends time with Ka-jong and others, he slowly starts to care (leading to hilarious lines akin to "There is something wrong happening with me. I don't even feel amuzed by misery of others"). And his edgy nature neatly contrasts with the over-the-top shinenigans he performs as he often really fears that woman. Great chemistry.
As the bond between them develops, maybe, just maybe the psychopath will finally feel something and in the same way, she may melt devil's cold heart. The mystery surrounding their previous interactions and corresponding flashback adding much more to it.
Overall, this show has a few problems but it will definitely take one of the top positions in my 2025 watched drama list.

But I am talking about subtitles which are mostly servicible when you don't speak English at all but not great when you do. Switching to English ones is better but some episodes still have wrong timings, characters speak in All Caps and important dialogue in different languages like Spanish is not typically translated at all.

Well, Czech subtitles actually have those Spanish parts translated so it comes of as very lazy they do not bother doing the same for the most prominent language in the world. Netflix translations are much better from my experience.

I watched Nara's show in September. Slower in the beginning with introducing characters and concepts, it developed into great show (top 3 this year). And Nara has grown some much in her acting skills.
I am watching Death Note for that right now but you know, I like my romances and feels.

I mostly discover new things and sometimes watch Youtube videos about things I have watched years ago, interesting to see other people's perspectives. Although, before Genie, Make a Wish, I rewatch the first season of House. Amazing.
I think it is in season 3, although the numbering here is different.
Not everything but a few. First was My Mister, where she was more of a side character comedy relief. Then was Itaewon Class, but her character made few strange decisions and ended up being overshadows by Kim Dami. Afterwards, it was Bulgasal, which is amazing fantasy show and introduced me to Gong. By The Midnight Studio was truly shown how much she has grown as a actress.
It is worth it. Still slowly going through Billy Bat.
I would say so. Not much client stuff going on, but you get fun episode concepts like Michael's job suddenly turning into assault on airport which he needs to dismantle from inside, the gang being stranded on island in Carribean and facing large group of mercenaries, or Michael and Fiona going to a couple's vacation resort to kidnap a scientist creating bioweapons.
And the villain is pretty good too. Not sure if they manage to keep him around for the rest of the show but I wouldn't mind. However, the prominence of Breaking Bad at the time is showing. They keep stylizing him similarly to Walter White.

Well, as in TV shows? Watched some really good kdramas. When it comes to American shows, I must stick to the long runners and it has been a great success with things like Prison Break becoming my favourites.
The first three seasons are the best for me. The formula is clear but they throw in curveball once in a while and the overarching plots are fun - House's exwife, the angry fed. But I just like how comfy the show feels.
Watched the early seasons a lot. Remember it was friday evening and we were taking break from cleaning after having new windows installed and I just sat there is messy kitchen, watching Futurama and playing a lot of Warcraft 3. Binged until like halfway through the season 3 in a weekend.

It is a supreme thriller show. I really like they don't play it safe and each season is very distinct, although they don't go as far as Lost which keeps reinventing itself and changing genres while staying coherent. How many seasons?
