Finished the first season of Buffy (1997). It holds up very well. Sharply written, witty with likeable cast of characters, mixing episodic monster of the week stories with the main plot. The plot point that people don't turn into vampires but instead are possessed by a demon is still really cool twist on the vampire lore. Many episodes have remained memorable even now over 15+ years since I was watching it, the highlight being the creepy episode focused on the puppet. Although, it seems there are too many episodic stories towards the end of the season, kinda lessening the final showdown with the Master. Really glad I started rewatching it.

Watched Grave of the Fireflies (1988). Not much to say. A classic Ghibli film about a boy and his younger sister trying to survive in war-torn Japan. Beautiful art-design, music and attention to detail of everyday life. The ending is emotional but I think it tries a bit too hard to be a tearjerker.

Watched Linda Linda Linda (2005). A comedy film about group of high school girls that after accident have to team up with Korean exchange student (played by Doona Bae) to learn and perform the titular song in 3 days on the school festival. Honestly, the movie is peak comfy and has that amazing early 2000s Japanese vibe. Cast is fun and especially Doona has some really great scenes. I like how it incorporates the fact her Japanese is only servicable. Also, seeing a single Korean surrounded by Japanese really highlights how different they look.
