Was in the mood for a small town film, so I watched Phantasm (1979). Kinda cool horror movie about two brothers who go to a funnel of their friend who died under mysterious circumstances, yet to notice increasingly strange things occurring around the cementary and the strange funeral home owner. The plot is not that interesting and the conflict between brothers should have been explored more but the vibe of the film is pretty atmospheric. Low budget, few locations, the small town setting works well. There are a few creepy moments, yet some of the ideas are presented in very silly way. The highlight of the film is the cool synth soundtrack, heavily reminiscent of The Exorcist. Sadly, the ending is quite incoherent and confusing, not in a good way.

Watched Lethal Weapon (1987), a fantastic buddy cop movie. After a woman on drugs jumps of the hotel's balcony, aging detective (played by Danny Glover) teams up with spiralling hotshot (played by Mel Gibson) to solve the cast leading back to the days of the Vietnam war. Very fun movie, with great chemistry between the leads and witty writting. I did not know this was what popularized the "I am too old for this shit" line. The protagonists are well-fleshed out, Glover being older family man and Gibson dealing with severe depression after his wife had died in a car crash. I like how the movie is not just about the case but also incorporates the family scenes into the story and ties them with the main plot. There are plenty of fun set pieces, like the shooting face off with a car. The ending is pretty satisfying.

I see a 26tb seagate exo for 600 here make sure not to get the shitty models that don't have all the proper modern harddrive tech, and remember that you need enough sata ports on your motherboard. 8 is not guaranteed at all anymore. there are pcie expansion cards where you can get 5 more, but that needs a free expansion slot and be sure to check cpu and mainboard if they can actually handle the amount of lanes you'd want.
I made the big mistake once with a lower grade motherboard where sata ports were disabled if you use an m2 slot, which fricked me.

there are different things you could do to solve it. if it's new pics that are saved by you or automatically from some twitter/discord, they'll have the same date and thus can be shown in a cluster on the timeline.
if it's pictures that are in no way organized, there's the "View similar photos" button. for example I clicked it on the first pic and that second pic was in the list it shows me. then you can select and add to album or tag.

Finished the second season of Buffy (1998). Pretty cool season further developing characters, especially relationship-wise (Xander and Cordelia are so chaotic-funny together) but also plants seeds for character beats that will come later. Since the Master has been defeated, Angel's old acquitances Spike and Drusilla are introduced and become the new main villains. Despite looking and acting like a bunch of punks, I think they fill the role really well and the later half focusing on Angel losing his soul is pretty intriguing, twisting the existing relationships and mirroring a lot of issues teenagers may face in real life. Sadly, the show loses
wonderful Miss Calendarwhich was expected but not this soon. The season final is tragic and melancholic, very nice. The most bizarre one-off episode is down-to-Earth story about Buffy's mother finding a new boyfriend which shows a potential horror of having a stepfurther, before framing Buffy for murder and then revealing he is realistic robot from 1950s which feels completely out of place for this universe

Also finished Our Beloved Summer (2021). This is a Kim Dami drama about a boy and girl shooting documentary in highschool, constantly arguing with each other before dating for 5 years. Another 5 years after their break up, they are reunited due to her job in marketing and him being famous artist, before being memed into shooting a sequel to the documentary. This show is slightly above average. It starts pretty strong but kinda loses steam in later half. The writting is pretty funny at least, the potrayal of their relationship is nice but the conflicts and drama are not that interesting. It lacks the the spice that would make it more interesting (eg. business building in Start-up or cooking battles and palace conspiracies in Bon Appetit, Your Majesty). The actors are great though and I appreaciate how the story decides to push characters into self-reflection over their lifes after they get back together instead of everything being just great. It also smoothens the convoluted reason for their initial break-up as it shows MC's deep emotional issues. I also appreciate how one of the side characters has a rocky relationship with his negligent mother and the show does not try to explain it away or sugarcoat it. This is a slasher meta-commentary comedy starring Taissa Farmiga as a daughter of low-tier actress whose only rise to fame was being in Friday the 13th knock-off 30 years ago. On the commemoration day of her mother's death, Farmiga is memed by a film club to attend screening of the movie. Soon, she and he friends are transported into the film and have to survive using their knowledge of the genre cliches. Honestly, it is a very neat film reflecting on the genre. Dialogue is witty, teens have their teen banter while the movie characters spout appropriately inappropriate lines. It really highlights how weird these silly characters would appear in real life. But despite all the jokes, the movie has a heart. The MC gets to interact with the character played by her mother, which is quite emotional moment for her and in general, it is pretty cool how they intertwine the plot with the theme of dealing with grief. Very solid stuff.

Everything should be in dockers as far as I can tell and yeah they will live on the HDD pool
I was concerned about the servers for Valheim I wanna run being on HDD, but from what I gather they should only really load once at the start and live in the RAM for most of the time we play because they are fairly small
If I feel like it causes issues, I still have empty M.2 slot for ssd on the MOBO which I can configure as a pool for purposes of these servers.

Watched Intruder (1989), this time a proper obscure slasher film with involment from the Raimi Brothers. Set in a secluded grocery store as it closes, a man returns from prison to visit his ex-girlfriend he still hasn't gone over. This leads into an argument and fist fight with the employees who drag him away. Yet, he is not ready to give up. While not being particularly special, this movie has the setting going for it. Love the old grocery store aesthetics and it is no wonder it is used nowadays in many indie games. The cast is kinda blend but likeable enough thanks to their silly interactions. The first part kinda drags and the situation escalates in the second half a bit too quickly. The movie takes itself seriously but gets a bit of brevity with plenty of visual jokes. There are two really good scenes which are call back to the early parts of the film and make the villain actually at least a bit memorable. The twist ending is pretty good and quite unusual for the genre. Bruce Campbell cameo is nice but could have gotten at least something to do.

Ran a stresstest on the CPU for an hour then ran 4 passes of Memtest86
THen installed TrueNAS and chucked in my spare 1TB drive. Learned how to make datasets, make users, assign permissions so that users can only access certain parts
Then installed Tailscale in docker and set that up and at the end made my sister instal tailscale client and connect remotely to my NAS and upload a file to it

My PSU is totally overkill 650W, but only because it had to be SFX powersupply and if you want any that is of good quality they start at higer wattages, all the 350-500W ones are pretty shit.

Ending should be appropriate to what the story is going for. Sometimes, happy endings are just forced, other times the sad endings are just too edgy.
I mean, they can still hang out as middle aged people. It is not like at least some characters have a kid in the show. But of course, they also wanted to start the Joey spin off as fast as possible.
