The sales for these re-releases are not great. The price was the main reason new Blood remaster had mixed reviews. If the remaster is a new thing, then great. If you delist old version which you could purchase for like 2,5 EUR which was great in itself, then it is scummy.

word, delisting the original is the most annoying part. i do have a problem with prices being such a big part of steam reviews though, even if companies should be punished for it. when i wanted to get one of those total war spinoffs it was mixed and all the reviews said it wasn't worth it for 40 euros, but i was gonna get it on sale for 8 and then all those reviews weren't actually relevant to if the game was good or worth it. a lot of people with 100 hour playtimes also made it seem like if you couldn't play it for 250 hours then it wasn't worth it, even if i didn't intend to play for more than 25 or so

I may be overblown in cases like Total War, but it can be legitimate. Taking down perfectly fine version, replacing it with slightly better version (maybe 0,1% of players will notice the difference) and increasing price three-fold is just scummy and deserves bad reviews. I guess it can also be the case when you have those games that cinematic games that are few hours long and cost 60+ bucks. That Order game from few years back seemed like a good example.
It is one thing when people do it for expedient things on their own (like stacking up on cheap alcohol or cigarretes) but shouldn't be response to economic crisis and unaffordable necessities.
Are there any streaming services for these cartoons? Disney feels like a fit but they probably don't have them. No, I am still watching season 3 but I remember how it ends.

That is pretty cool. It has been a while since I done that with my dad. But it seems like 6 days is a way too much.
Watched The Bird People in China (1998). This is a Takashi Miike film about a guy, who travels to China for a precious mineral deal and is followed by a yakuza who is owned money but the protagonist's boss. Together with a cheesy quite, they must traverse harsh mountains and rivers to reach the village. But instead of the minerals, they start spending time with the locals, learning about the life there and get fascinated by the legend about supposed wings tool that would allow them to fly. This is pretty chill movie, the character dynamics are pretty funny. The environments are quite novel for the film and very nicely shot, the mountains really feel like entering another world. The central conflict devolves into the question where to tell people about the ore and potentially destroy the area or protect the village. Kinda similar themes to the classic Woman in the Dunes. Interesting film, although quite atypical for the director.

Not very much. I like the idea of playing games but I always resort to something that is easy to pick up and play. You seem to like rogue-like a lot too. I want to get to Firewatch soon for the season and maybe Detention, one of my favourites but it has been so long.
He tries to stand up against government, which is good I guess, but I can't be too fond of him with his support for things like Euro currency or wanting to destroy the Veto in EU.
The thing is that many originals are just licenced and they have exclusive streaming rights. Even with some shows they invested in, the studios own them + they are IP owners like in case of One Piece or Avatar. Kinda worried how many things will disappear in few years, especially kdramas. True, I just keep a list of things and try to choose what I feel like watching at the moment. Feels a bit strange watching something like 5 years after discovering it.
The Xander episode was about him struggling with his self-worth. He ends up being driver for group of undead gangster. Crazy plot but handled really well.

Watched Pee Mak (2013). Based on urban legend, this is one of the most popular Thai films. It is a horror-themed romance comedy about a guy returning to his fishing village from war and inviting his military buddies with him. The village is strangely empty and everyone is dismissive of him. Soon, we discover that during his time in military, his wife died during childbirth, yet remained at their house as a ghost, desiring to see him again. Not long after, his friends realize it too and the plot revolves around them trying to convince dumb-witted protagonist to accept the reality of the situation. Very cheesy and enjoyable film. The group of his friends are not much better and enable the most ridiculous behaviours in each other. The haunted house scene is pure madness on their part. There are a few neat scares. And the romance surprisingly works well, the final scene is very emotional. Good stuff.

Watched Zodiac (2008), a crime film based on the real life Zodiac serial killer who was terrorizing California and surroundings in the 60s and 70s. And damn, as always David Fincher just knows how to make a kino procedural. It follows an obsessive cartoonist played by Jake Gyllenhaal and good natured detective played by Mark Ruffalo. Great performances by both. The atmosphere is really solid. The investigation truly captivating. You can see how the director laid groundwork for his later show Mindhunter.

Finished watching Hotel Del Luna (2019). This is absolutely fantastic IU-lead fantasy romance kdrama. 1300 years ago, guilt-ridden woman seeks the place where the dead rest. Unable to escape her past, she merges with the Moon Tree, punishing her to the eternal life and service as the head of the hotel recently deceased visit until moving on in the afterlife. Flashforwarding to the present time, she is stylish, snarky and wannabe classy hotel owner, yet still harbouring the hatred. Her fate is soon intertwined with a professional but scaredy cat hotelier who might make her time to move forward again. Honestly, this is one of the greatest kdramas. This year, I really loved Bon Appetit, Your Majesty (with Yoona) and Start-Up (with Suzy-noona) and this may be even better. Main characters are very strong (IU's acting is insanely good) and the main guy is so great slowly growing as a person through their interactions to be her equal. There chemistry is amazing, funny, charming, emotionally-resonant. Other side characters are awesome too, often used for comedy relief but their stories are deeply tragic as well. The episodic stories are varied, going from cheesy, through melancholic to thrilling. The main story is both beautiful and sad, the nice moments being what brings the unevitable end ever so closer and you really feel the sense of impending doom. The final episode, parting with all the characters, is 95 minutes of pure emotional rollercoaster. The soundtrack is perfect, many love-themed song fitting to the scenes, but more energetic Done for Me by Punch is the most memorable for me. Overall, amazing supernatural romance show, somewhat similar to Midnight Studio, starring Nara, which I watched exactly a year ago. Definitely right fit for the season!

it's amazing how much was left out in the show. some key details are way different and make the story or some characters behavior much more reasonable. some characters were done dirty in the show, some got a total boost.
for example the portuguese boss jesuit priest was made to look like a harmless but evil greedy retard that barely got a minute of screentime in the show. in the book he's a multi faceted deep and in many ways admirable character.

Watched Love Untangled (2025). Set in seaside Busan in the late 90s, this is a romantic comedy about a girl who is insecure about her curly hair and sworns to never fell in love, despite being in love with a popular guy from her school. The things get complicated when she saves a life of a new guy in town whose mother runs a hair salon promising almost magic hair straightening. While it may be a little generic, it is a lot of fun. The dialogues are witty, the friend group attics are hilarious (the bond between the friends is core of the film) and the main heroine has the attitude. Her look actually reminds me a lot of Minnie and has somewhat similar demeanor like her (Now I am even more excited for her version of 50 First Dates). The main guy looks unassuming but always surprises people with his skills. The vibe is comfy, atmosphere somewhat nostalgic, love the trope of teenagers obsessing over manga in the 90s Korea. It is pretty cute film, although I am kinda bummed about the last quarter adding some family drama. It is solid and handled well, yet I would prefer more focus on romance and couple activities instead.

Finished watching Midnight Diner: Tokyo Stories Season 1 (2016). This is a drama of relaxing comfy iyashikei genre, in the vain of the fantastic Little Forest movie (starring Kim Taeri). Set in Shinjuku, a mysterious man only known as Master, runs a small dinner opening from midnight to 7AM. The restaurant is visited by quirky and weird regulars and newcomers wandering the night. The show has episodic structure, often focusing on a story of a customer, somehow relating it to the dish of the episode. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. Big emphasis is placed on the diner as a community, a place where different people randomly meet up and talk. The nightly vibe and all sorts of food adding to its cozyness. My favourite regulars are the old guy that butts into other peoples matters and a snarky middle-aged woman and her friends who always spout their wisdows and they just confirm their opinions by saying "neeeee?" in synch. My favourite episodes were the one about office working knitting warm sweaters for her love interests and the other about obsessive physician getting into relationship with Korean girl despite all the stigmas. Unfortunately, 24 minute run time often limits the stories, they are fine as they are but could benefit from being fleshed out more and would reduce some of the abrupt resolutions and a chance meetings. The New Years Eve episode also had great communal feel to it but was unfortunately kinda unfocused, but worth for the melancholic season finale.
