-I open a simple mp3 file, it plays fine. however the audio is at 100% and there is no audio scale, not with mouse wheel, there's no apparant options element, the only thing that works is if you click the audio symbol but that mutes it completely

actually no, with youtube-dl you can just drag and drop the link into the mpv window and it will stream like it would in a browser, no prior download required

youtube livestreams never work for me either but i had no issues with twitch
I do't know what youtube-dl is and I bet your view doesn't get counted if you watch a vlive that way so I prefer watching vlives on the internet
