romania and bulgaria are different only in the sense that we aren't genocidal, middle east of europe freaks like the tensions these other nations here have, but romania and bulgaria suffer from the same issues

tourism is one thing, the people going to bulgaria will go there for the beaches which are not bad and not expensive, and closer than greece for some folk
i have been in bulgaria a whopping couple of hours and i could instantly notice the same dreadful cityscapes as here, the only difference was everyone spoke their russian-like language and i could not get a single human to speak english to me definitely selection bias here though, i would hope people there speak some level of english unlike the specimens i encountered
