it may be a shithole but the public transit is pretty good there, there should be more gyms around, i'll have more friends around that i otherwise get to see twice or thrice a year only

the number i had in mind is kinda enough to offset all the new costs and only sorta justify a job move, with how risky and crappy the job market is, i'm surprised i could aim that high without a promotion to begin with, but i expect the responsibilities there to be much higher than the responsibilities here if i got promoted and got a meme sub 10% raise for it

freaking synopsis lied to me, he didn't go on a great adventure to find her again and have a redemption.

there are some things I didn't quite get. I think the deaf girl was a bit too perfect in the redemption arc part. it was like she was an emotional net, catching everything thrown her way. That only changed after the ferris wheel ride with ueno. I think the red hair guy chingu was totally unnecessary to the story. Instead I would have wanted a part where yuzuru finds out what main-nim did and going on a war path for a bit, proteccing her sis.

Also the ending was too long for me. I think I would have actually liked it better if the movie simply ended after main-nim falling. It would have been somewhat of a "real" raw ending. Don't need the happy endings necessarily.


Another thing is I think the cultural differences really showed here. I just can't relate to suicide and school bullying as much. At least not in that style. In my real world experience, bullying like that would have never ever occured. Not to say there was no bullying, but if a kid was bullyed by 1-3 other kids in school, that kid would just avoid them and be enemies forever. Not like that strange dynamic in the movie where the kids kinda self inserted into the other ones lives again. There was no such thing as forgiveness or guilt. Life as a kid moves on so quickly. after a year of school you will probably change classrooms and maybe even classes. I guess in the japanese school system they stay one class from 1-9 right?

If the EU was truly a single market in this sense it could achieve better results if it went for a mix of the 2 vastly different approaches

In fact I think that’s what the folk in charge have been thinking about changing lately but the EU is extremely slow to roll out drastic changes like that and it’s already costing it a leader position in the tech landscape which will be very costly long term as you could witness this year with tensions between US and EU but still not being able to separate from them because they have all the cloud hyper scalers and a vast chunk of SaaS solutions

i think 2 got a lot of flack at its time for switching up the protagonist (though that was kinda the point) but it has aged really well in terms of themes, with AI, censorship, fake news, echo chambers

its not the best game in the series but the eerie aspects of it really elevate it imo

i played 1 back in uni too, lowkey enjoyed 2 better than 1 at times, though 1 is the better one

havent gotten around to playing 3 in modern times but i will at some point, or head straight to the remake


monster's pacing is kinda crap somewhere in the middle but the final arc doesn't really have any pacing issues and its a really solid payoff

So long as it is relatively recent, meaning teenage years and further, I usually have vivid memories of the periods in my life whenever I was playing some games that I particularly enjoyed and I even remember where I was, what was going on in life whenever I was playing them

not exactly the same but i did part of my vacation solo once at 19 and i really didn't like it and was just lonely the whole time, couldn't enjoy it much. then went back to some of the same spots with my sister the year after cause it was very pretty there, and now i basically only have those new good memories expect if i think about solo traveling

I found it as I was searching for stealth games since the Thief trilogy was such an immersive journey. Not much luck though.

That is a good thing. Gloomwood works in similar way but that is the exception. Games nowadays don't work the same way. Looking for documents in the level? Actually have to read them. Ancient lost city? The map is confusing inaccurate scribles at best and the compass is your best friend.

Dishonored is more straight forward, even has quest markers. Also, you are kinda safe with all those combat options.
