I don't use twitter personally, but when I have been linked there I really just hate evertyhing about it's design. Like damn near everything on any given page ~90% is clickable, and you can end up on some other page when you were scrolling through.

yeah it sucks cause it doesn't seem like a bad place to lurk but it's inconvenient without an account, pretty sure they got rid of all non-JS functionality, and I really don't wanna give them my phone number either. not to mention the way their video's mute themselves if you scroll down even a bit too much really IRKS ME

I swear I went to make an account a year or two ago and you needed one...
So did I and I skipped the phone part. They try to nag you into writing your phone number but you can skip it.
Anyway, there's a part of the account making process where you put in your interests and then the website suggests you different accounts to follow. DO NOT add more than a couple because if you add too many - and this is during the account making process, mind you - you will automatically get banned right after making the account for "detected bot activity". You can repeal the ban but it's a hassle and the Twitter support idiots will beg you to add your phone number again
